Jim Koval
Dr. James Koval comes to OSPI after 40 years serving the North Thurston Public Schools. He is a long-time educator who held positions at the building and district levels, including 11 years as superintendent. Dr. Koval brings a strong leadership background and a willingness to work in collaboration with the pilot partners to ensure this project is a success.
Project Manager
Michaela Miller
Michaela Miller oversees the day-to-day work of the program. Ms. Miller is a National Board Certified Teacher and has attained her Washington State Principal’s Certification. She has led the state’s National Board Certification Program at OSPI since 2007. Prior to working for OSPI, she spent 13 years working as a teacher and teacher-leader at the building and district levels.
Communications/Data Specialist
David Morrill
David is responsible for the TPEP website, video production, technology and design-related tasks, and other program duties like iGrants and School Employee Evaluation Survey administration.
Program Assistant
Carrie Dubuque
Carrie splits her time between the National Board program, TPEP, and the Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST). For TPEP, she assists with our contracting, program budget, plans and prepares training, and keeps things running as smoothly as possible.
Administrative Assistant
Molly Becker-Miller
Molly makes arrangements for and prepares for our many meetings, trainings, and events that our office and our partners put on.
Student Co-Op
Tasha Smith
Tasha is our co-op student employee. She helps in many areas of TPEP and National Board and has proven to be a valuable member of our office.
