March RIG PowerPoint Update

Here’s the most recent version of the RIG PowerPoint presented by Michaela Miller and Jim Koval.

Closing Time: RIG Applications Close Today at 5 p.m.

Today is the last day to submit applications for iGrant Form Packages 620 and 625 (RIG I and RIG II). We know some districts won’t be able to obtain all of the signatures required for their letter of support by 5 pm today, but please submit the application and we can make arrangements for the letter of support. Email David or contact your ESD RIG lead with any questions. Thanks.

RIG Deadline Reminder — July 20

It’s great to see the RIG applications come rolling in over the last week or two. As a reminder, we’ve extended the deadline for both form packages (620 for continuing “RIG I” districts and 625 for new “RIG II” districts) to 5 p.m. this Friday, July 20th. If your district has questions or difficulty meeting that deadline due to the collection of signatures required for the letter of support, or other concerns for that matter, please email our office and we can provide some assistance.

RIG Applications Closing Soon

Those districts wishing to apply for a Regional Implementation Grant still have a few days left to do so. To apply, log in to iGrants and fill out form package 620. The application deadline is this Wednesday, September 21st at 4:00 pm.

RIG iGrants Form Package 620 Now Open

Thanks to all of the districts who submit letters of interest to be part of our TPEP Regional implementation Grants (RIG). iGrants Form Package 620 is now open for the second phase of the application process. The application will close on September 21st at 4:00 pm. For more information on the RIGs and the application process, check out our RIG overview page.

UPDATED: TPEP Regional Implementation Grants (RIG)

As we start the second year of our pilot project, we’re excited to offer a new opportunity for districts to get involved with our Teacher/Principal Evaluation Pilot through Regional Implementation Grants. Each of the nine ESDs will receive $100,000 (ESD 121 will receive $200,000 due to their size and the size of many of their districts) from OSPI to administer the grants and assist our agency with implementation efforts. We know lots of districts are anxious to improve their evaluation systems and are ready to get started ahead of the 2013-14 timeframe. Our goal is to get one third of the state’s 295 districts involved in the new evaluation system, either as one of our original pilot sites or as part of the Regional Implementation Grants.

The application will be a two step process, the first of which is a letter of interest due by 4:00 pm on August 26th. For more information about the grants and application instructions, please check out the links below.

Update: We will now accept letters of interest until 4:00 pm on September 2nd.

Instructional Framework Summaries

Curious about what exactly is an instructional framework, how they fit into an evaluation model, or which frameworks will be supported through our Regional Implementation Grants? We’ve added a page to provide some insight into those questions. You’ll also find summaries of each of the frameworks in addition to links for more information. The page is found on the Resources page or as a drop down menu item on the Resources tab in the menu bar.
